In San Francisco, at the Museum of Antiques, Two Vampire men try to steal a diamond. The museum guard catches them in the act. The vampire men drop the diamond and shatters, they realize it was a fake and attack the guard.

In Madripoor, at the Princess Bar, Patch is playing darts, when Archie Corrigan comes in. Patch finds out that Archie's brother Burt Corrigan inherited all their dad's money. Archie's brother is a little crazy, he always thinks he’s someone else. Their mom's sister, Ruth is trying to get the family fortune from Burt by claiming he is insane. Burt asks Archie to go to his competency hearing to speak on his behalf. Archie asks Patch if he would accompany him back to San Francisco. Jessica Drew asks if she could go because she worked there before she left for Madripoor. Patch and Jessica leave with Archie to San Francisco.

Back in San Francisco, at Corrigan Manner, Patch and Jessica with Archie get to meet Burt, he seems normal, so they leave to go to their hotel. Jessica goes to her office she has in San Francisco. The curator for the museum of antiquities in San Francisco, Tuttle, shows up and asks for Jessica’s help him to find a diamond that they think was stolen by some vampires. Next day, everybody is waiting for Burt at his Competency hearing, Archie and Ruth argue at each other, then Burt suddenly crashes through a window on a horse with hordes of vampire-men chasing him.
