The battle ensues between the X-Men, Captain America and Wolverine as Wolverine is freed from the Hellion’s telekinetic hold. Still enraged, Wolverine continues his assault. Evading Cyclops’ attacks, Wolverine reclaims the Muramasa and deflects Cyclops attacks with the sword back at Captain America and Cyclops. Turning his attention back to Hellion, Wolverine readies and assault and Emma Frost ends the fight with a telepathic attack. Wolverine recovers to his normal state.

Emma tells Wolverine of her ‘pre-cognitive’ vision and pleads with him to stop his quest for revenge. She tells him that ‘they’ are now using his son in the same manner as they did Wolverine! Wolverine’s son seems to be controlled by the same forces that once had Wolverine. His son was torn from his mother, Itsu’s womb and seems too born inherently with his father’s healing factor; these atrocities were preformed by a mysterious figure in red.

Flashback—Wolverine recollects his life with Silver fox before she was raped and thought to be killed by none other than Sabretooth. He remembers losing the fight with Creed and thrown into a deep pit. (Wolverine #10, vol 2) The man in red speaks to Logan and then Sabretooth enters, he tells Logan that the townsfolk wanted Silver Fox dead so he would leave. Thirsting for blood and revenge, Logan is consumed by his rage. Logan soon escapes from the pit but Creed is gone. Creed leaves behind an axe for Logan. Logan murders the townspeople for revenge, just as Nuke later did.

Present—Distraught over his grief, Logan worries that his son endured the same fate, Captain America struggles with an apparent heart attack due to the massive hemotoba. Believing Wolverine is still not himself, Cyclops attacks as Wolverine gets near, Wolverine dodges both attacks and presents Cyclops with the Muramasa and tells him that he trusts Cyclops to use it if/when Wolverine falls back in enemy hands.

Emma tells Logan as his quest now includes saving his son’s life that his son hates him passionately. Wolverine walks off saying that makes two of them.
