In Madripoor, at a bar, Patch remembers back when he was Wolverine. Wolverine is hunting down 9 Mercenaries soldiers. One by one he kills them. Wolverine gets to the last, the leader Malone. Wolverine tells him why he’s hunting them.

5 years ago, In Iraq, Mercenaries took over the American embassy and tortured and raped some women and a Canadian nun. Canada sends Wolverine known as Weapon X and America sends Delta Force to take back the embassy. Weapon X finds the nun raped and tortured, her dying wish is for Weapon X to avenge her death by killing the mercenaries.

Wolverine explains to Molane that he his not going to kill him because he killed her, he going to kill him for taking her faith and good spirit away. After Wolverine tells the story Malone kills himself. Patch is then brought back to the present, in the bar a waitress asks what he is thinking about. Patch tells her that he was thinking about a man like himself many years ago. The waitress ask if it was him. Patch tells her he was like him, but more of a loner, more vicious and less of a man than him.
