Cold Comfort,
Northern Canada, Arctic Research facility, Wolverine hitches a ride with his old friend, Harry Tabeshaw. Harry Tabeshaw flies Logan up to see Heather and James Hudson. Logan meets the scientist team biologist, Delong. The team Physicist, who wears a power suit, Sverdrup. The team Geologist Simpson. Heather tells Logan how the research team there had uncovered a block of ice with an imprint of the creature that once was in it. They scanned the imprint with a 3-D scanner, the computer generated a image of the creature, Logan recognizes the image, its the Hunter in Darkness. Heather tells Logan how the U-V rays from the hole in the ozone layer had melted the ice and released the creature from its cryogenic hibernation, then the creature disappeared after that. In another room, Logan ask to talk to James in private, Logan tells James how he lost his adamantium and his healing powers, and that he is one of his oldest and best friends. James ask Logan why he is telling him this, Logan answers that he wants James to be his executor of his estate. James said it would be a honor. Logan tells James that the wild animal in him knows when to go home for the last time. Elsewhere in Canada, Albert, Elsie Dee and Bloodscream are still at the ancient Indian burial, when a posse of men carrying guns shows up and threaten them. Elsie Dee says that she is gong to notify the police through her modem, but the posse open fire and shot Albert and Elsie Dee. Then they shot Bloodscream, but it doesn’t do anything to Bloodscream and the posse tries to run off. Albert and Elsie Dee get up and they beat up the posse. They tie up the poachers and take them to the Canadian Mounties. Bloodscream tells Elsie Dee that Logan has a fatal disease that is killing him, so Albert and Elsie Dee decide to join Bloodscream and search for Logan. Northern Canada, Arctic Research facility, Simpson was about to collect data from one of her research instruments outside, but just then she opened the door, a Hunter in Darkness clawed her guts and ran inside the facility. Tabeshaw calls for Logan to help. James and Heather chase the Hunter in Darkness down the hall, but the Hunter in Darkness was waiting for them. DeLong with a high-powered rifle and Logan with bone claws try to ambush the Hunter in Darkness, but by the time they reach the Hunter in Darkness its attacking Heather and James. Delong tries to shot the Hunter in Darkness, but Logan stops him because Heather and James are to close to it. Logan runs up, claws extended and battles the beast, giving Heather and James a chance to catch their breath. Sverdrup shows up in his powered freight-loader suit to fight, but is beheaded by the Hunter in Darkness. Logan manages to get slice open the Hunter in Darkness's back, while its back was turned. The Hunter in Darkness tears a hole in the ceiling and escapes through the hole.In the medical Center, Tabeshaw tells everyone that Simpson needs a doctor since she is badly injured. Suddenly they hear the Hunter in Darkness, howling. Tabeshaw tells everyone that the Hunter in Darkness is calling to the others and the bad news is the others are howling back.
