Canadian wilderness, Logan leaves his motorcycle in Heath Junction, in the care of Cooley, the railroad station master there. Logan escapes Cylla and Bloodscream and heads into the woods because he has the advantage there, he can smell Cylla and Bloodscream coming and he could see them coming. Logan kills a wild wolf and uses the wolf's coat to keep himself warm, while he travels through the snowy mountainside.

Heath Junction, Cylla and Bloodscream are still trying to catch Logan, when they see Cooley pushing Logan’s Harley up the street. They ask Cooley where the guy is who owns the bike and Cooley tells them that Logan went into the forest, even though he told Logan not too because of the snow storm coming. Bloodscream and Cylla are both drained of energy, so Bloodscream grabs Cooley and sucks his blood for energy. Bloodscream keeps Cooley with them I case he gets hungry again. Cylla kills and eats a bird for nourishment. Cylla asks Bloodscream whether he was human. Bloodscream explains that he was human until he was made undead, back when he was a naval surgeon in the ship company of Francis Drake, he was severely injured and was cared for by a "heathen necromancer" named Dagoo, who made him undead. Bloodscream obtained a secret potion that would make him immortal, but he needs the blood of an immortal. Bloodscream thinks that Logan is immortal because the meet in WWII, Normandy, then 50 years later, they meet in Madripoor, and Logan hasn't aged. Bloodscream also found out from Dagoo that he could only be killed by a metal that is not made by man.

In the snowy mountains, Logan is overwhelmed by the blizzard, he needs help to find his sense of direction. Logan remembers the story Mariko told him about the sword his carrying. The Honor sword of clan Yashida, was forged from magnetized meteorite iron by demon smiths in the caves of Kyushu, but was re-forged by Masumune for the Yashida clan. Logan ties a rope to the blade and lets it dangle, the blade points north. Logan eats the Wolf meat and leaves a trail of bones for Cylla and Bloodscream to follow. Logan finds a town.

In the town of Logan, Whistle Stop Dinner, Logan eats several hamburgers and ask to use the phone to call Cooley in Heath Junction. The waitress tells Logan that Cooley is missing, but Logan's motorcycle was shipped to the town of Logan because their was a tag on the bike that said Logan. Logan jumped up, paid for his meal and went outside to start his bike.

Outside, Logan tries to start his motorcycle, Cylla and Bloodscream arrive, both were tired and hungry from tracking Logan. Bloodscream betrays Cylla by draining her body of blood, killing her, so that he would have the energy to fight Logan. Logan starts his bike and charges down Bloodscream, using the honor sword of the Yashida’s, and slashed Bloodscream across his face, Logan rides off leaving Bloodscream for dead.
