In Oregon, Terror and Jubilee attempted to submere Wolverine in ice-cold water to slow the reaction rate of the explosive spike in his chest. Terror loses his grip and Wolverine is pulled under water of the frozen lake. Jubilee tries to melt the ice, but she can't. Wolverine stabs his claws into the ice to cut his way out. Terror sees his claws and punches a hole in the ice. Terror manages to pull the spike out of Wolverine's chest, and they run to get out of the area before the spike blows up.

Deep in the forest, Monkeywrench is having a cult meeting in front of a bonfire, Monkeywrench makes his followers chant about nature's suffering due to the human race damaging it. Monkeywrench points to their captive, Alice and tells them that her father is the problem.

At a gas station, Wolverine uses the bathroom to cut his hair off, that why Monkeywrench's people won't recognize him. Wolverine gets the help of Jacob Grenfire, the leader of the NDL. Logan pretends to choke Jacob, to convince Monkeywrench's followers to take him where they hide out. Terror uses an ear from a sonar operator to follow Logan to Monkeywrench's camp.

Deep in the forest, Logan discovers that they tied Alice on the top of a huge tree with explosive spikes in the trunk. Logan head butts Monkeywrench, and runs into the forest to saves Alice at the top of the tree. Jubilee and Terror are able to snare Paul, Bunyan, and Pick Axis in a trap. Monkeywrench catches up to Logan, but Logan cuts Monkeywrench across his chest. Logan climbs the tree to the top, cuts Alice loose. Monkeywrench hits the spikes on the tree trunk, which cause them to explode and makes the tree fall over. Logan and Alice fall off, but Logan absorbs the impact to the ground. Logan leaves Alice with Jubilee and Terror, Logan hunts down Monkeywrench and stabs him in the side with one claw. Barton Hoff tells Jacob Grenfire that he has stopped the cutting of trees and ask for Alice back. Jacob Grenfire tells Barton that the NDL doesn’t kidnap people. Logan comes out of the woods with Alice and returns her to Barton. Logan tells Barton to consider the job courtesy of Charlie Xavier.
