X-mansion in Salem Center, New York, Logan still upset over the death of Mariko Yashida tries to take his anger out in the Danger room. Logan overhears a conversation between Barton Hoff and Professor X in his office. Alice Hoff, Barton's daughter may have been kidnapped by the NDL, Nature Defense League to make him back off Barton's logging interest. Barton came to Professor X in hopes of obtaining some special help in rescuing Alice. As they leave Professor X's office, Logan sneaks into the room and finds a book that Barton had brought filled with mementos of Alice's belongings, Logan obtains Alice's scent from the items. Logan ask Jubilee to go with him to Oregon to locate Alice.

In Oregon, Jubilee and Logan find the members of the NDL in a local bar. Wolverine smells adrenaline on one of the guys as he leaves, they follows the guy, Lance. They discover Lance sabotaging the logging equipment with grenades. Jubilee blinds Lance with her plasma blast, Wolverine tackles him, but Lance pulls a pin out of a grenade, blowing up one of the tractors. Wolverine slashes a piece of debris from hitting them, Lance kicks Wolverine in the head, Wolverine gets up and slams Lance into a tree and ask about Alice Hoff, Lance tells Wolverine that he wont give any information and jumps on a sharp piece of metal, killing himself.

At the Morgue, Wolverine obtains help from Terror, a mutant with the ability to take the abilities and sensations of people by using their body parts. Terror takes an eyeball from Lance, and is able to see that NDL organization did not kidnap Alice. They find out that Johnny Bloodcede was the leader of the group that kidnapped Alice and he goes by the name MonkeyWrench. Just then, Monkeywrench and his group break into the morgue to get Lance's body back. They throw wrenches in Wolverine and Jubilee face for being unbelievers. Monkeywrench slams a slug hammer across Wolverine's head. Jubilee is still phased from a wrench that had hit her in the head. Paul and Bunyan attempt to saw Jubilee in half, but Terror pushes Jubilee out of the way, and gets sawed in half. Wolverine chases Monkeywrench, Monkeywrench slams a spike into the ground, just as Wolverine runs over it, it explodes. Terror finds a corpse of a man named James Chan and uses it for a new set of legs. Wolverine still stunned from the explosion manages to beat up Pick Axis. Paul and Bunyan attack Jubilee, but she blinds them with her plasma blasts. Terror, with a new legs, knocks Paul and Bunyan out with a well-placed kick. Monkeywrench gets Lance's corpse and heads out of the Morgue. Wolverine chases Monkeywrench, but Monkeywrench manages to drive an explosive spike into Wolverine's chest and hits him with the slug hammer. Wolverine crashes through a window, but can't remove the spike without having it blow him to pieces.
