Outside the Yashida clan mansion, Wolverine, Gambit, and the Silver Samurai are battling the Hand's ninjas. Mariko leads them back into the safety of the mansion. The ninjas try to follow, but the mansion was built with booby-traps to hinder the ninja's from getting through. They reach the core of the mansion, the Citadel. In the Citadel, Mariko wants Logan to restore the honor of the Yashida clan, and gives Wolverine his traditional brown/yellow costume to wear.

Outside, SilverFox and Hydra bring Reiko to Matsuo. Matsuo tries to choke Reiko, but Kojiro stops him, but Matsuo shots his hand off and chokes Kojiro. Silver Fox tells Matsuo that Reiko is the key to her plan to get rid of Mariko Yashida.

Jubilee and Yukio make their way to the roof of the Yashida mansion. Cylla follows them and attacks. Reiko enters the mansion, blind but able to avoid the booby-traps, she makes her way through the mansion.

In Matsuo's Limo, Matsuo ask Silver Fox how she got Reiko to agree to kill Mariko, when Reiko is obligated to Logan. Silver Fox tells Matsuo that Reiko doesn’t know that Mariko is Logan's true love. Silver Fox also explains to Matsuo that Reiko is immune to blowfish toxin.

On the roof, Yukio, Jubilee, and Cylla battle and causes a hole in roof. Wolverine is torn between guarding Mariko from what is coming through the mansion and saving Jubilee and Yukio from Cylla. Gambit tells Wolverine he will look after Mariko, and gives Wolverine a boost to the roof to fight Cylla. As they fight on the roof, Reiko gets to the Citadel, and presents Matsuo's offer to to buy out the Yashida clan underworld holding at fair market value in exchange for one of Mariko's finger. Reiko presents her sword, Silver Samurai believes the sword is poisoned. Reiko stabs herself in the hand to prove that the sword isn't poisoned. Back on the roof, Jubilee blinds Cylla with her plasma blasts, Wolverine throws Cylla off the roof. Cylla grabs and hangs by one hand from the roof, Wolverine is about to finish her off. In the Citadel, Mariko takes Reiko's blade and barley cuts her finger, but screams out in pain and realizes the blade has been coated with blowfish toxin. Wolverine hears Mariko's scream, and rushes to Mariko's side. Reiko realizes that Mariko was Logan's love, Reiko grabs Silver Samurai’s black blade and stabs herself, committing suicide.

On the roof, Yukio cuts a power line which hits Cylla, electrocuting her and causing her to fall to the ground below. Cylla gets up and limps away in defeat.

In the Citadel, Mariko in agony of the toxin ask Wolverine to take her to the privacy of the chapel. In the chapel Mariko makes her final request to her true love and ask Wolverine to spare her the final agonies of the toxin by killing her with his claws. Wolverine says he can't. Silver Samurai and Gambit standing outside the chapel, her Wolverine's claws, "SNIKT", Wolverine walks out of the chapel with Mariko's limp body in his arms.
