In Guernica, Spain in 1937, Logan, Puck, Inez, and Ernest Hemmiway are escaping the Nazis in a car, when the brakes get shot up and they crash into a building. They get pinned down by a mounted machine gun fire. Logan decides that he is the man for the job. Logan has no guns, so he grabs a hammer and a wrench and charges at the Nazi soldiers manning the mounted machine gun. The Nazi soldiers see Logan and quickly shoot him in the chest, Logan falls to the ground. The Nazis think Logan’s dead, when he jumps up and savagely kills them all with the hammer and wrench. Logan takes the mounted machine gun with him. Logan joins the group. They all decide to head to the mountains for the camp of the partisans.

Elsewhere, just outside of Guernica, Captain Horest Schlachter and his Nazi soldiers hang Lady Deathstrike from a telephone pole. The Nazis are disappointed when Deathstrike doesn’t die. Deathstrike breaks free and tells Captain Schlachter who she is and how she can help him. Deathstrike tells Captain Schlachter that if they kill Logan and retrieve Logan's adamantium, they could make super soldiers and he would be promoted to a Nazi Marshall.

In the present, in Australia, Pierce sees a time vortex appear. Pierce realizes that Deathstrike is altering history which is changing the present. Pierce tells his men, the Reavers that if she kills the wrong person in the past, they might cease to exist.

Back in the past, Logan, Puck, Inez, and Hemingway arrive at the partisan camp in the mountains, Logan meets Ricky Blair, Vincente, and Jaime, a German prisoner. Blair tells them the camp has been under attack, and they are the only ones left. German Stuka Dive-bomber attacks the camp, Logan grabs the machine gun and open fires on the aircraft. The aircraft gets hit and drops a bomb before it flies away. The bomb hits the camp, it blows up near Puck knocking him out. They find Puck and he is hurt bad, they go to seek medical attention. They let Jaime, the German prisoner go, since he would have slowed them down. Jaime runs back to town. The damaged aircraft makes it back to Captain Schlachter and tells him that Logan had badly damaged his plane. The captain tells the pilot to go observe which way they are going, just then the engine in the damaged aircraft blows up, aircraft part rain down on the captain and his men. Jaime encounters Deathstrike and Captain Schlachter. Deathstrike threaten to kill Jaime if he doesn’t tell them which way Logan went. Jaime tells them and they give chase.

Later as they passed through the mountain, Logan realizes that there being chased. Logan tells the others to keep going, Logan sets up the machine gun, but the gun was damaged in the last fight. Logan changes into his Wolverine outfit, armed with his only claws, just the way he likes it. The Nazi soldiers throw a grenade it explodes, dust raises and its hard to see. Wolverine uses this to his advantage and sneaks up on the soldiers and slashes them to pieces. Captain Schlachter observes from afar that his men are getting slashed to death. Lady Deathstrike walks over preparing to fight.
