Salem Center Morgue, Officer Cowaher and Officer Dunleavy and the trauma Resident examine the body of Linda Higgins, who died of a broken neck suffered from a fall against her porch steps. Officer Dunleavy notices welt on Linda's back and takes pictures, she ask what may have caused the welt, but only the Coroner could say and he was at home. Someone listens to the news just outside the door.

Upstairs in I.C.U., John and Michelle Kole wait to hear who their niece was going. The doctor come out and ask how they were related, Michelle says that she was Linda's sister, which makes Jane her niece. The doctor tells her that she is in critical condition because of swelling around the brain and if it doesn’t go down she might not survive the night. Someone listens just out of sight in the corner of the room.

On the road, After Logan secretly heard the news about Linda and her daughter Jane, Logan tracks down Mr. Higgins. Logan remembers Mr. Higgins who lives just outside of the Xavier property in Salem Center, Mr. Higgins beat his wife and Wolverine tried to kill him for it, but Beast, Storm and Professor X stopped him. Later Mr. Higgins tried to kill Wolverine by running him over with his car, but that when Wolverine's healing factor was super accelerated. Logan finds a beer can on the street and an oil spot at a stop sign, Logan remembers that Mr. Higgins car had an oil leak ever since he ran him over.

At a roadside motel called Hideaway Hotel, Mr. Higgins and his son, Richard rented a room for the night. Richard sobbing while trying to color with a red crayon on paper. Mr. Higgins drunkenly watches TV and tells Richard to stop crying and that what has happened can't be changed. Mr. Higgins tells him to get some sleep so they can get to Albany Airport by nine o'clock to catch their plane flight.

Meanwhile, Cowaher and Dunleavy show up at the coroner's house with photos Linda and her injuries. The coroner takes a look at the pictures and tells them that Linda was hit from behind with a blunt metal object like a iron, shovel or pan. Officer Dunleavy Radios two officers: Jackson and Farley, who were on staked out at the Higgins house and tells them to look for something that Mr. Higgins could have hit Linda with, they see a shovel in the yard and bring it in to the Salem Center police station for finger printing.

Up the road at 4am, Logan begins to think that Mr. Higgins has pulled off to some motel, because there has been no trace of him on the road for 20 miles, Logan turns around and heads back to check the motels along the way.

Hideaway Hotel, Mr. Higgins and his son Richard prepare to leave for the airport. Richard asks to go to the bathroom before they leave. Mr. Higgins tells him to hurry and continues to pack, but notices that Richard is taking to long and goes to investigate. He finds Richard just finishing, but he checks to see if his son had left any messages for someone to find, but finds nothing and they leave for the airport.

Hideaway Hotel at 6:49 am, Logan pulls up after checking the last 6 motels with no luck, but smiles after notices a oil stain in the parking lot. Logan enters the room in front of the oil spot and finds a maid cleaning the room. Logan ask if you could look around, the maid suggest that he could do more than just look around. As Logan looks around he smells a heavy crayon smell, he closes the door and notices a note written on the back of the door, “Albinee airport 9:00“. Logan jumps on his Harley and jams to the airport realizing that he only has 2 hours to make a three hour trip.

Salem Center police station, Cowaher and Dunleavy find small finger prints on the shovel and run the prints to match Mr. Higgins, but the prints didn't match. Cowaher decides to run the finger prints to see if they match Mr. Higgins’s son, Richard and they matched.

Salem Center hospital, Jane finally wakes up and ask her aunt and uncle where her family is. Jane’s aunt and uncle tell her that her mother died and that her father took her brother and ran away. Jane ask if they were running because her brother hurt their mother. They look surprised at the news.

Albany Airport at 8:45 am, Logan arrives on his Harley. Logan believes that Mr. Higgins was trying to escape into Canada. Logan runs into the terminal and finds Mr. Higgins, grabs him and escorts him out with his claws to his back. Logan tells Mr. Higgins that he should of killed him back when, so that he could have never killed his wife, Linda. Richard notices that Logan is taking his dad and tells Logan not to hurt his dad because he didn't kill his mom and admits that he did. Mr. Higgins explains that what happened, he got home late after picking up a six pack of beer and beat his wife Linda for having dinner cold. Linda ran out to the car where she got a gun and pointed it at her husband in fear. Mr. Higgins tells her that she better kill him, or he is going to kill her, suddenly Richard picked up a shovel and hit his mom in the back, but when she fell, she landed on his sister Jane and broke her neck on the stairs. The police show up and arrest Mr. Higgins to do a full investigation, Logan leaves telling Mr. Higgins that even though he didn't actually kill his wife, he was far from innocent.
