Madripoor, Hightown docks, inside an old oil tanker, The Hydra commander demands that Matsuo Tsurayaba kill Wolverine, Sabretooth and Shadowcat, before they wake up and kill them all. Matsuo Tsurayaba, Jonin of the Hand, plans to corrupt their minds and use them for the will of the Hand. Matsuo Tsurayaba shows the Hydra commander thirteen circles of thirteen sorcerers apiece, each adept in the sinister and malefic of the arts arcane, burning incense and chanting they corrupt Wolverine, Sabretooth and Shadowcat's minds. The sorcerers find out what each of them holds dear, and now they plan to make each one betray what they hold dear. Matsuo Tsurayaba believes this cause them to become slaves to the Hand.

In a realm beyond the physical world, Sabretooth catches dinner, while Wolverine cooks it. Suddenly Shadowcat sneaks up and kills Sabretooth and then kills Wolverine. Shadowcat tears her cloths off, revealing a new uniform of the Hand, then runs off to do some more killing.

Madripoor, Hightown docks, inside an old oil tanker, Hydra agents tell Matsuo that Shadowcat has escaped. Matsuo tells them that Shadowcat's intention for escaping to hunt and kill, and with each kill, Matsuo believes it will bring Shadowcat closer to being a slave to the Hand. The Hydra commander leaves and tells Matsuo that he is sick of his mind games. The Hydra commander enters secret part of the ship, where Hydra has Tiger Tyger, Jessica Drew, and Viper captured in sensory deprivation tanks. Hydra plans to reprogram their minds and brainwash them so that they would be loyal slaves to Hydra.

In a realm beyond the physical world, Logan arrives at the X-Mansion to join the X-Men, but the X-Men: Angel, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Colossus, Banshee, Iceman, Storm, Professor X, Beast and Nightcrawler attack him on arrival. As a team they beat up Logan, but Logan starts to think logically on how he could defeat them with out killing them. Logan begins to take down each X-Men one by one, until Jean Grey was left. Jean tells Logan that he has to kill her or he will be killed, suddenly the illusion shatters and Wolverine wakens from a trance and sees that he is still in the tanker, Sabretooth had killed one of the sorcerers, which freed Wolverine. Sabretooth tries to escape, but Wolverine stops him and they get into a fight, but in the end they decide to work as a team to save Shadowcat and free Madripoor of the Hand and Hydra.

Meanwhile, In the secret hydra section of the ship, Shadowcat sneaks in and saves Viper before her brain could get reprogrammed by Hydra. Shadowcat takes out all the Hydra men and then is about to kill the Hydra commander, but Viper stops Shadowcat with a poison. Wolverine and Sabretooth shows up and see that the ladies can take care of themselves, Jessica Drew grabs Sabretooth and throws him across the room and against the wall. Tyger Tiger tries to hit Sabretooth in the face with a rifle, but Sabretooth grabs it out of midair and throws her to the ground. Viper grabs Sabretooth from behind and puts a knife up to his neck and threatens to kill him. Wolverine tries to stop Viper, then Viper stabs the knife into Sabretooth's neck, but Viper notices that it doesn't have any affect and notices that Shadowcat had phased Sabretooth so the knife wouldn't cut him. Viper vows to kill Sabretooth and anyone who helps him. Shadowcat phases Sabretooth and Wolverine and the leave.

Matsuo Tsurayaba sees that all the Hand sorcerer’s wills had been defeated and they were killed by Sabretooth. A sorcerer by the name of Magus ask Matsuo Tsurayaba for help, saying he has the power to save him, Matsuo Tsurayaba kicks him away and tells him that he had his chance to prove himself.

Few days later in the Princess Bar, Wolverine and Shadowcat sit at the bar. Viper was declared Prince of Madripoor and she posted wanted posters all over the island of Wolverine, Shadowcat and Sabretooth. Wolverine tells Shadowcat that Sabretooth left earlier, he wanted to fight but decided that Wolverine wasn't ready yet. They realize that when the Hand messed with their brains they shared some of their traits, Shadowcat's innocents, Sabretooth's fierceness and Wolverine's honor.
