In the Canadian wilderness, a bear wonders into a cave where it opens a urn, which releases a spirit that possesses the bear, the bear goes mad with anger and runs into the forest.

At a nearby Gas station convenience stores, William "Jocko" Jacquomo robs the store, then jumps into his cars as his friend, Peter Hale, floors it out of there before the Mounties show up.

In the Canadian wilderness, Wolverine and Alpha Flight's Shaman tells Wolverine that the Mounties had found the robbers car at the edge of the forest and that they were probably hiding somewhere in the forest, they need Wolverine to track the robbers down in the miles of forest. Shaman also tells Wolverine that a beast has awakened in the forest.

Nearby, Bob Totebind, his wife, Catherine and their son, Alan head to the forest for a camping trip, but Mounties stop their care and tell them they the park was closed to the public, while they find the robbers. Bob turns the car around and heads home, his wife Catherine scolds him for not having a backbone and tells him that he ruined his sons trip. Bob pulls their SUV off the street onto a dirt road, they find a place camp, so they stop and set up their tent. Nearby, Jocko and Petey hike through the forest, when they hear the sound of a bear killing another bear nearby. They see the family camping and threaten to kill them if they don't give them all their money, food, and their car.

Elsewhere, Shaman discovers that the bear wondered into the spirit cave and one of the evil spirits had been freed and everyone in the vicinity was in great danger.

At the families camp site, Wolverine tracks the robbers scent to the camp and tells the robbers to put their guns down, suddenly the possessed bear charges in. Wolverine challenges the bear, while the robbers and the family get into the SUV. Wolverine attacks the bear, the father of the family tries to help Wolverine but he gets knocked out by the bears paw. The robbers drive off in the SUV with the wife and kid in the car. Shaman shoes up and helps the dad up. Wolverine remembers what elektra, professor X and Stick taught him, that he can't let his animal side loose. Wolverine puts his claws away and knocks out the bear with a couple of good punches. Shaman runs over and releases the evil spirit from the bear and puts it back in the urn.

Nearby, the robbers crash the family’s SUV, they fear that Wolverine will show up and keep the wife and kid at gun point. Wolverine catches up and threatens Petey with his claws, while the dad knocks out Jacko with a branch. The Mounties show up and arrest the robbers.
