In Genesis's Citadel, Genesis watches closely as the adamantium is feed into Wolverine's body. Lifeforce watches and monitors the bonding process. Wolverine rejects the adamantium, so Genesis orders Lifeforce to increase the flow. Zoe Culloden and Cannonball watch from a vent in the ceiling. Cannonball sees a room full of coffins, Zoe explains that the coffins drain the life energy of people and feeds it to Apocalypse who was in the main coffin. Genesis tells his Dark Raiders that Wolverine will become the next Lord Death, the first horseman of Apocalypse. The adamantium begins to bond again. Cannonball demands Zoe Culloden to teleport Wolverine to safety, but Zoe tells Cannonball that Wolverine must reject the adamantium feed before she does. Zoe Culloden tells Cannonball not to attack until be rejects the feed and teleports away. Cannonball can't wait any longer and flies and hits Lifeforce, Genesis and the Dark Raiders. Genesis orders his Dark raiders to attack Cannonball. Hurricane creates a hurricane that blows Cannonball into a wall. Spyne and Gauntlet start beating the life out of Cannonball. Cannonball yells to Logan and says that he was sorry that he tried his best. Wolverine starts to reject the adamantium feed again, the adamantium protrudes through his skin. Lifeforce tells everybody that the system is going to critical levels, just then the bonding chamber explodes, shards of adamantium burst into Hurricanes back, killing him. Cannonball struggles to fly and picks up Wolverine and takes him to the coffin room. Genesis tells the remaining Dark raiders to track Wolverine and Cannonball down. Genesis finds that Lifeforce was also killed by shards of adamantium that stabbed through her head.

In the coffin room, Cannonball calls out to a very feral Wolverine and ask him to remember who he is. Spyne hears Cannonball and is about to kill him, when Wolverine shreds Spyne to pieces. A badly beat Cannonball struggles to his feet. deadbolt calls to Spyne, Wolverine used Spyne’s tail to pull Deadbolt to him and kills him. Gauntlet and Dirt Nap find Deadbolt's blood on the ground, Wolverine picks up Deadbolt's head, Gauntlet thinks Deadbolt is walking over, until Wolverine jumps out of the shadows and kills Gauntlet. Dirt Nap escapes by running away. Genesis finds Cannonball and drags him over to Apocalypse's coffin. Wolverine jumps down off the top of Apocalypse's coffin and slashes genesis across his face with a right, then a left, uppercut, across his stomach, then stabs him in the gut with both sets of claws. Cannonball open the tomb of Apocalypse and finds it empty, he doesn’t know if Apocalypse escaped or if Genesis was lying and Apocalypse was never in the tomb. Cannonball turns to find Genesis slashed and mangled on the floor dead. Cannonball calls out to Wolverine, but realizes that his friend was gone, in more ways then one.

Meanwhile atop a Mountain halfway around the world, Stick tells elektra Wolverine had fallen from the path, and it was up to her to return him back to the path. elektra tells Stick that she will find Wolverine.
