Wolverine Vol.1 #27-30Captain Merrick was in charge of the MasterForm. The MasterForm was used as a tool of the Lazarus Project to get recruits to join the project. A young recruit, Target killed Captain Merrick in Rumika, when Wolverine revealed it was Merrick who planned his families death, so he would get the recruit to join the project.
