Logan was transformed into the horse man of Death by Apocolypse, who set up a battle between Sabretooth who aquired adamantium and Wolverine who was adamantium-less. Wolverine choose to defeat Sabretooth and be brainwashed by Apococypse, because he had a chance at fighting the brainwashing, where Sabretooth would have embraced Apocoylpes plans. Wolverine did finally beat Apocolypses brainwashing and return to normal.
